Wichita - Burge, Gregory Eugene

71, a retired officer of the United States Navy, retired Wichita Police Department crime scene investigator, volunteer chaplain, and retired federal armed security officer, passed away Thursday, August 25th, 2022. He was born January 17th, 1951 to Carl Eugene Burge and Jackie Marie (Walker) Burge in Pittsburg, Kansas.

Greg was very involved with his family and it was his joy to be with them. Greg was an avid outdoorsman at heart and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge of Derby #365. Greg lived his faith in the LORD and was a devoted servant.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Eugene Burge.

Greg is survived by his wife of 49 years, Carlene L. Burge; daughters, Sherry Marie Sandberg and Jennifer Darlene Peterson (Greg); grandchildren, Melana Teube (Darick), Emma Peterson, Victoria Peterson and Dylan Wittorff; great-grandchildren, Liam Gregory Teube, Raelynn Jennifer Teube and Ainsley Ann Peterson; mother, Jackie Marie Burge; brother, Bradley J. Burge (Mary); sister, Judy White (Jerry).

Visitation: Monday, August 29th, 2022, from 10:00 am to 10:30 am at Life Change Church, 10225 E Kellogg Dr, Wichita, KS 67207. Funeral Service: 10:30 am, Monday, August 29th, 2022 following the visitation. Interment to follow at El Paso.
