Glenn O. Crum, 89, of Haysville, Kansas passed away at home with his family at his side on Wednesday, November 17, 2021. Glenn was born on November 5, 1932 to Myles and Eunice Crum of Wichita, Kansas. The youngest of four boys. raised by his amazing mother, he graduated from Wichita North High School in 1950.
Christian, Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Coach, Teacher, Mayor, Board Member, Friend, Volunteer, no matter what name you called him, Glenn was one of the greatest people God has ever given to this world and he made all of our lives better. He literally impacted thousands of students, families, and friends; loving and guiding everyone he met. The success of children was his passion; not only his own, but all kids in every community he touched. In his 89 years, he gave his time, his energy, his faith, and his love without hesitation. He was the person we all pray we could be, and we thank God for every second we were blessed to know and love him.
Glenn was preceded in death by his mother, Eunice McNally, father, Myles Crum, and brothers Larry, Russell, and Bill.
Glenn is survived by his wife of 67 years, Rolla, his children: Mike (Robin) Crum of Pretty Prairie, KS, Tammy (Jerry) Fleming of Haysville, KS, and Steven (Paige) Crum of Haysville, KS; his grandchildren: Jeremy (Sabina) Fleming of Seattle, WA, Jessica (Jon) Eaton of Wichita, KS, Ben Fleming of Wichita, KS, Heidi (Josh) Schrag of Pretty Prairie, KS, Destiny (Michael) Hollrah of Kansas City, MO, Katie Crum of Pretty Prairie, KS, Tracy Crum of Haysville, KS, Natalie (Bryant) Keirns of Stillwater, OK, Olyvia Glynn Crum of Malden, MA, Paul Crum of Pretty Prairie, KS, Jon Fleming of St. Louis, MO, Dawsen Crum of Rochester, NY, and Daine Crum of Haysville, KS; as well as his great-grandchildren: Alex Fleming of Seattle, WA, Emma, Angus, Sadie and Milo Eaton of Wichita, KS, Jack and Zoey Fleming of Wichita, KS, Memphis and Ophelia Eggers of Pretty Prairie, KS, and Carson Hollrah of Kansas City, MO.
The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at the Haysville United Methodist Church at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Waco Cemetery, 500 W. 95 St S., Haysville, KS. A viewing will be held on Friday, November 26, 2021 at Smith Mortuary, 7031 S. Broadway, Haysville, KS from 1pm to 8pm. The family will be available at the viewing from 5pm to 7pm.
