Lenexa - Geraldine “Gerry” G. Massie,

85, longtime Wichita resident died March 25, 2018 in Lenexa, Kansas. She was born November 22, 1932 in Wellington, Kansas to Violet Kaiser Henderson and John Wesley Henderson. Gerry was a graduate of Wichita East High School and Wichita State University. She was employed by The Boeing Company and also sold real estate for J. P. Weiland & Sons, Inc. Gerry was an avid painter and member of the National Museum of American Women in Arts, Kansas Art Guild and the Oil Painters Society. Gerry is survived by her brother in law, Harry Stater; nieces Marilyn Gillihan and Carolyn (Ron) Redford; nephews Larry Wayne, Steven (Tami), and John (Gina) Stater. Her dear friends, Tom and Tonya Adams, Kathy and Ron McFarlane, Lola and Jason Pfeifer, Annie and Clint Dayhuff, David Pritchett, Howard and Resa Schultz, David and Mickie Hacker. She was preceded in death by both parents and her sister, Jane Stater. Visitation will be held 10 am - 12 pm on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Smith Family Mortuary in Derby with graveside service following at 2 pm in El Paso Cemetery, Derby. In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to Wichita Children’s Home.
