Gerald Blue Harjo was called home September 27, 2025 in Wichita, Ks.
Gerald was born September 5, 1943 to Geraldine Cerre and Virgil Harjo in Ponca City, Oklahoma.
Gerald was raised in Wichita and was the first graduating class of South High School in 1961. Soon after, Gerald joined the U. S. Navy and was appointed Radarman third Class. He served 3 years aboard the USS Leader (MSO-490). Gerald retired from Bombardier Learjet in 2010.
Gerald is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jeneia A. Harjo. Three daughters, Tawni Ulmer, Tamara Harjo-Ivy and Jennifer Harjo. Gerald had five grandchildren, Brandon Ulmer, Dakota Maclaskey, Eilene Maclaskey, Avery Harjo and Abigale Harjo. He had one great-grandson, Ermias Harjo.
Gerald was a respected elder in the Native American community. He will be missed.
Gerald will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery, Wichita, Ks.
