Gerald Dennis Fry

Gerald Dennis Fry was born on April 7th, 1943 in Little River, Kansas to Gerald Leslie Fry and Phyllis Irene (Newkirk) Fry. He died Tuesday, March 25, 2014 in Wichita at the age of 70 years. Dennis married Lila Marie Johnson on July 26th, 1963 in Windom, Kansas. To this marriage two children were born, Scott Dennis Fry of Wichita and Shawna Marie Fry of Lindsborg, Kansas. Dennis attended Little River High School and Kansas University. He worked for DelMonte Foods in Toledo, Ohio prior to moving to Shawnee, Kansas where he worked for Castle Metals for 12 years. He then moved to Wichita and worked for Industrial Distribution Group (IDG) for 30 years until his retirement in September of 2010. Dennis enjoyed woodworking, SCCA racing, bicycling and was a former Wizard in the OZ Bicycle Club, but his greatest love were his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Lila of the home; his son, Scott and his daughter Shawna; brother Larry Fry of Herst, Texas, four grandchildren, Tamara Barber of Wichita, Tanner Barber (Sydni) of Cunningham, Timothy Fry of Olathe and Teresa Fry of Emporia; three great-grandchildren, Asher Cain, HarLee and Briar Barber (and almost Jaxon Barber). Memorial services to celebrate Dennis' life will be held at Grace United Methodist Church, 944 S. Topeka, Wichita, Kansas on April 4th, 2014 at 4 pm. Burial will be a private family service.
