George Richard Scantlin passed away Saturday, February 21, 2026.
George was a graduate of Kapaun High School and received his bachelor degree from Friends University. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1971. George retired from Wichita Police Department in 1994 and Sedgwick County Emergency Communication in 2007.
Preceded in death by his parents, George F. and Angela H., and his brother Bill.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Susan, son Brian (Tawny), daughter Amanda, brothers and sisters, Bob (Sharon), Angela, Janet (Blake), Dan (Amy), Paul and grandkids Angeline, Annabella, Nate, Anthony, Ana, Maya, and great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Beauties and Beasts.
A rosary will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Parish Church at 10 AM followed by mass at 10:30 AM on Thursday, February 26, 2026.
