Hatcher, George Clifton, 92, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, December 12, 2012. Visitation 1-8 pm Friday, with family present 6-8. Funeral service 2 pm Saturday, both at Smith Mortuary, 7031 S. Broadway, Haysville. George was a longtime member and deacon of First Christian Church in Haysville, and a WWII Army Air Corps Veteran. After the war, he married and raised four children in the home he built himself in the late 1940s. He was retired from Boeing Aircraft after 35 years of service as a welder. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Essie “Susan;” son Allen; parents Alan G. and Eddella V. Hatcher; 3 brothers, and 3 sisters. Survived by Children Terry (Don) Carlson, George Doyle (Peggy) Hatcher, Myron Dwight (Pat) Hatcher, daughter-in-law Barbara Hatcher; family friend Joy Irons; sister-in-law Phyllis Rafler; ten grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. A memorial has been established with the Alzheimer’s Association, 347 S. Laura, Wichita, KS 67211.
