ANDOVER Brown, George G., 78, passed away Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014. He was born Oct. 25, 1935 to Howard and Velma (Moon) Brown in Rocky Ford, CO. George was the Mayor of Derby, KS in 1970. He worked many years as an aircraft design engineer. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Howard, Donald, Shirley, Robert, and David. George is survived by his wife of 57 years, Beverly; children, Sharon (Larry) Pauls, Kevin (Jacqueline) Brown, Pam (Richard) Solomon, and Steve Brown; grandchildren, Lisa, Jennifer, Blake, Jordan, Julie, Preston, Courtney, Grant, and Chloe; great-grandchildren, Henry, Sylvia, Rhodes, and Olive; and brother, Doyle (Nancy) Brown. Visitation: Monday, 1 to 8 pm. Funeral: 10 am, Tuesday, Aug. 12, both at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby, KS 67037. Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 600 N. Greenwich Rd., Wichita, KS 67206.
