George "Okie" E. Bowen
94, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2019.
Visitation: Wednesday, September 11, 2019, from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm with the family present from 6-8 and Funeral Service: 10:00 am, Thursday, September 12, 2019, both at Smith Mortuary, Derby.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Bowen; daughter Ruthie Bowen; grandchildren, David Barber and Traci Reynolds; six siblings, Lara Mae Bowen, Loretta Powell, Mildred Moore, Ernest Bowen, Junior Lee Bowen, and Eunice Kemp.
Okie is survived by his children, Georgia Goins (Roger) and Jeanette Barber; four grandchildren, Kirsta Wentworth, Russell Goins, JoLena Frost, Frankie Goins; two great grandchildren, Parker Hunt and Marissa Reynolds; three siblings, Lawrence Bowen, Ruth Pieschl (Bones), William "Bill" Bowen.
Memorials have been established with St Joseph's Indian School, 1301 N Main St, Chamberlain SD 57325 or St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105..
