George E. Bachman, age 85, of Haysville, loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2011. Recitation of the Rosary, 7 PM Tuesday, June 28, 2011, Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM Wednesday, June 29, 2011, both at St. Michael Catholic Church, 545 E. Main, Mulvane. George was born in Derby, October 24, 1925, to the late Bertha Florence (Wear) & George Edward Bachman, Sr. He and Virginia Holloway were married March 2, 1946 at Ft. Lewis, WA. George was a grinder machinist at Giles & McCoy Machine Shop and a maintenance worker at McConnell Air Force Base. George and his family are very proud of his 33 years of sobriety. He is preceded in death by his brother, Donald. Survivors: his beloved wife, of 65 years, Virginia; daughters, Sharon (Robert) Thiessen, Golden, CO, Nancy (Dick) Christian, Benton, Susan (Dan) Kane, Haysville, & Mary Ann (Dean) Hartschen, Andover; brother, Gerald (Norma) Bachman, Derby; sisters, Marie Morford, Newton, Lois (Leon) Brown, Colwich, & Judy (Jay) Lindell, Van Alystyne, TX; grandchildren, Tim Thiessen, Andy (Shelly) Thiessen, Jeff (Angela) Christian, Cindy Christian, Matthew (Angela) Hartschen, and Erin (Justin) Hendry; great-grandchildren, Tristen, Lucy, Grace, Fynn, Jessica, Cassie, Devan & Andrew.
