Genevieve Florine Bankston "Jenny", age 75, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018.
She retired from JCPenney as a Manager Associate after 28 years.
Visitation 1-8 pm Tuesday, June 19, with family receiving friends 5-7 pm, Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Recitation of the Rosary 10 AM Wednesday, June 20, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM, both at St. Mary Catholic Church, 2300 E. Meadowlark, Derby.
Genevieve is preceded in death by her husband, William; her parents, Florian and Myrtle Mathia; brother, Florian Mathia, Jr.; sisters, Mary Ellen Abresh and Joan Rawald; and sons-in-law, Andrew Coleman and Derek Diaz.
Survivors include her children, Brenda McVicker (Ben), Bill Bankston (Dawn), Robert Bankston (Lesley), Bridgett Bankston; brother, Jim Mathia (Carol); 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
