Gayln Lee Batson

Batson, Gayln Lee, 68, retired electrician for Sperry Bros., passed away December 29, 2012. Visitation 1-8pm Wednesday, January 2nd, with family present 5-7pm; funeral service 1pm Thursday, January 3rd, both at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Road, Derby. Interment to follow at El Paso Cemetery, Derby. Gayln is preceded in death by his father, Hollace Batson. He is survived by his mother, Lois Joplin of Bel Aire; daughters, Gayla (Richard) Rush of Rose Hill; Julie (Douglas) Moore of Rose Hill; grandchildren, Ashley (Don Carpenter) Little, Tosha Little, Carlie Williams and Clayton Carlyle; great-grandchildren, Lennox Carpenter, Kaylann Little and Leeah Carpenter; siblings, Gary (Linda) Batson of CA, Nancy (Steve) Sperry of Andover and Pamela Stidham-Terry of Andover; many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established with the Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N. Hillside, Wichita, KS 67220.
