Gary Spires

Gary Edward Spires, 85, of Derby, Kansas, went home to be with his Lord Jesus, Tuesday, August 27, 2024. He was born August 22, 1939, in Longview, Texas, to Harvey Donald (H.D.) and Carolyn Spires. Gary met and married Anita Sue (Carruth) of Oklahoma in 1959. They would have been married 65 years in December 2024.

Gary is survived by his wife, Anita; children Sandra Spires and Lonnie (Christine) Spires; grandchildren Chase Morgan, Danae (James) Clark, Tanner Spires, and Breyden Spires; sister LaDonna Sterling, brother Keith Spires; Gary also has three great-grandchildren, Harrison, Maleena, and Adelina Clark; along with many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents H.D. and Caroyln, brother Dennis, and daughter Darla.

Visitation: Saturday, August 31, 2024, 12:30 – 2:00 PM

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM

Location: First Baptist Church of Mulvane, 1020 N. 2nd Street, Mulvane, KS.

Interment with military honors to follow at El Paso Cemetery, Derby, Kansas.
