66, passed away Wednesday, July 3rd, 2024. He was born March 26th, 1958 to Edward Bunyard and Gwendolyn Guthrie Bunyard in Wichita, Kansas.

Gary was a Master level automotive mechanic who worked at several dealerships and shops throughout his career. He loved all forms of motor sports, but particularly NHRA drag racing. Gary enjoyed attending annual NHRA racing events in Topeka, KS and spending time in the pits watching the crews work on the cars between rounds.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Rebecca Rierson, grandparents Edith and Gilbert Guthrie and George Bunyard and Julia Monigold.

Gary is survived by his wife Donna, of the home, sons Michael Bunyard and Matthew (Alexis) Bunyard, of Kansas City, KS, his parents Edward and Gwendolyn Bunyard of Rose Hill, KS, brother George (Melissa) Bunyard of Douglass, KS and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Sunday, July 14th, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Smith Mortuary, Derby 1415 North Rock Road Derby, Kansas 67037. Funeral Service: 1:00 pm, Monday, July 15th, 2024 at Smith Family Mortuary 1415 North Rock Road Derby, Kansas 67037. Interment to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
