Fredrick “Fred” Erbert, 61, died at his home Dec. 27, 2018 in Derby. He was born Feb. 21, 1957 in Ellis, to Leonard and Blanche (Locker) Erbert. Fred graduated from St Mary’s and Ellis High School in 1975. Following a time in the Kansas oilfields, he was then employed by the Pacesetter Corporation, achieving top salesman status in the United States. He was retired.
Fred will be remembered as a kind person and a loving father. Although he was stricken with Parkinson’s, he laughed in the face of adversity and loved life. His favorite pastime was fishing, and was a dedicated fan of the Derby Panthers.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents; son, Aaron; sister Joan Atchison; brother David, and a grandson Gabriel.
Survivors include three sons, Andrew, Adron, and Austin Erbert of Wichita; three daughters, Alexandria of Manhattan, Amanda Erbert Nyberg (Kirk) of Baldwin City, Avonlea Erbert of Denver; six grandchildren; four sisters, Jeanette Guinn of Tulsa OK, Judy Elman of Iola, WI, Jane Zook of Larned, and Jacqueline Murphy of Ellis; two brothers, Mark of Tucson, AZ, Patrick of Wichita; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.
Graveside service will be 11am Friday, April 26th at El Paso Cemetery, Derby.
