DERBY - Trautman Sr., Frederick Allan, age 76, passed away August 19, 2012. Visitation 1-8pm Tuesday, August 21, with family receiving friends 6-8pm at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Road, Derby. Funeral service 11am Wednesday, August 22, at Woodlawn United Methodist Church, 431 S. Woodlawn Blvd., Derby. Friends will be received Friday, Aug. 24, 2012 from 10:00 am till 12:00 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH. Followed by Graveside service at 1:00pm at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH with Rev. Thomas N. Thomas officiating. Fred was born October 1, 1935 in Belpre, Ohio to Louis and Ruth (Davis) Trautman. He was a graduate of Martin’s Ferry High School and lettered in four sports. Fred attended Ohio University and was a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. He was a graduate of Bethany College in Bethany, West Virginia and majored in economics. Fred had careers as a savings and loan officer, salesman, and purchasing agent. He was a member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church, Derby Masonic Lodge, Midian Shrine Temple, Sons of the American Revolution, Sons of Union Veterans and former member of the Optimist Club, Derby Park Board, President of Wichita Purchasing Management Association and ADA Board for City of Derby. Fred was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Joan (Quinn) Trautman; son, Richard Stone Trautman. He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Elliott) Williams; children, Frederick Trautman, Jr of Fort Worth, TX; Bradley Trautman of Derby; grandchildren, Cody Trautman, Kylie Trautman and Kelby Trautman; great-grandchildren, Preston Trautman and Kalli Wilden; sister, Andrea (Mike) Baker of Ashland, OH. Fred loved life, people, animals and participating in sports. Fred never met a stranger and was the ultimate optimist, always with a smile. Although he suffered a debilitating condition, he never complained. This loving gracious man will be very much missed. In lieu of flowers memorials have been established with Woodlawn United Methodist Church Youth Ministries or the Kansas Humane Society.
