Frank C. Sulanke

Derby – Sulanke, Frank C. age 79, passed away Monday, July 9, 2012. Visitation 1-8pm with family present 6-8pm Tuesday, July 10, at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Road, Derby. Funeral service 2pm Wednesday, July 11, at Woodlawn United Methodist Church, 431 S. Woodlawn Blvd., Derby.

Frank was born in Marshall, Michigan on April 9, 1933 to Frank C. Sulanke and Marian (Newton) Sulanke. He served in the United States Military and was a veteran of both the Korean and Vienam Wars. He retired in 1975 as a First Sergeant/Master Sergeant after serving over 23 years combined in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army. After his military career, Frank was employed by Beechcraft as an instructor and field tech, until retiring in 1992. He then went to work for Derby USD 260 for a total of 10 years.

He is survived by his wife, Billie Sulanke; children, Michael (Rhea) Sulanke of Edmond, OK, Lori (Rick) Stevens of Phoenix, AZ, Joni Sulanke of Wichita, Rachael Sulanke of Wichita, Shannon Sulanke of Kansas City, KS and Jerry, David and Cindy of Jacksonville, FL, step-son Jeremy (Dynaa) Gallegos of Derby; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established with the church.
