Frank J. Florio, Jr.

Frank J. Florio, Jr. (92) of Mulvane, Kansas, passed away peacefully September 19, 2023, surrounded by his wife and family.

He was born to Mary and Frank, Sr., on July 16 1931, in Corona, Kansas. He was an exceptional student, attending college in Parsons, Kansas, then entering the military in 1952 through 1954. He established Kansas Coil Spring Co., Inc., in 1962 and retired in 1998. He married the love of his life, Etta Lauer, in 1954 and were together until his last day. They were blessed with eight children. He was a faithful disciple of our Lord Jesus Christ in the Roman Catholic Church for 74 years, a Knight in the Knights of Columbus and devoted his time, talent and treasure.

He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Betty Wolownik, Glen Florio; oldest daughter, Kathy White Thompson and granddaughters, Kristin and Ashley Florio. Survivors include his wife, Etta; daughters, Teresa (Ken) Thompson, Lori (Troy) Nighswonger, Lisa (Glynn) Neal, Leanne (Jeff) Igo; sons, Ron (Bennie) Florio, Rick (Lisa) Florio, Michael Florio; 27 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.

Visitation with family is 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, September 21, at Smith Family Mortuary – Derby Chapel, Rosary is 11:00 am Friday, September 22nd followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:30 am, both at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Mulvane, KS and burial to follow at the Mulvane Cemetery, Mulvane Kansas.
