Mulvane, KS — Francis W. Linnebur, 94, died July 21, 2020 at the Maria Court Assisted Living Center in Mulvane following a full life of selfless giving to others.
Francis was preceded in death by his Wife Virginia, Son Henry Francis, Father Henry Fred, Mother Mary, Siblings- Paul, Aloysius, Wilbert, Laurina, Odelia, Veronica, and Pauline.
He is survived by Children- Alden (Denise), Richard (Tracy), James (Faith), Cathleen (Joe), and Thomas (Lisa), Daughter-in-law Alice (Henry), Siblings– Louise, and Alvin, Grandchildren- Kayla (Brad), Kyle (Taylor), Sarah (Adam), Matthew, Drew (Britni), Blake (Rhiannon), Katie, Jordan, Amanda (Austin), Elliot (Meaghan), Isaac, Haylie, and Shayne, and Great Grandchildren- Jase, Conor, Lance, Lanie, Rosalie, and Garrett.
Francis was born September 27, 1925 in Goddard, KS, joined the Army in 1946 and served in Japan until 1948, went to work for Boeing in 1952, was married October 20, 1956 for 63 years to Virginia Weilert, purchased a farm outside of Winfield, KS in 1967 and farmed it until 2007 when he sold the farm and purchased a house in town, he retired from Boeing in 1986 after 34 years and then became a Habitat for Humanity volunteer in 1993 and helped build 23 homes in Winfield, KS.
A visitation will be held July 30, 2020 from 6 PM to 8 PM at Smith Family Mortuary in Mulvane, KS.
The funeral mass will be held July 31, 2020 at 10 AM at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Mulvane, KS. A Rosary will precede the service at 9:30 AM. Francis will be interred in a family plot at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Winfield at 1938 E 12th St.
