Forrest Allan “Al” Jones, of Rose Hill, age 81, owner and operator of Jones Excavating, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2016. Visitation 1-8 PM Thursday with family receiving friends 5-7 PM; Funeral Service 2 PM Friday, both at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N Rock Road, Derby. Al is preceded in death by his parents, Dick & Gladys Jones; a son, Casey Jones; and a sister, Mary Ann Rogers. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Barbara; sons, Hank Jones (Keri), Charlie Jones (Ada), all of Rose Hill; daughter, Pam Jones, of Rose Hill; brother, Dick Jones (Barbara), of Peru, AZ; grandchildren, Caryn Dennett (Seth), Kristi Jones, Erin Jones, Tyler Jones (Dasha), Chrissa Landreth (Mitch), Abby Jones, Zach Jones (Annelize), Jerry Jones, Tiffany Jones, Austin Jones and Travis Jones; 6 great-grandchildren. A memorial has been established with Amedisys Hospice, 250 W. Douglas, Suite 101, Wichita, KS 67202.
