Floyd Douglas Zollinger

June 12, 1957 — April 20, 2024

Floyd Zollinger, 66, passed away on April 20, 2024. Born June 12, 1957 in Wichita, the son of Ted and Louise (Parker) Zollinger.

Floyd was an outdoor enthusiast and planted a garden every spring. He loved fishing. crow hunting, and spending time at their cabin on Fall River Lake. He was a volunteer fireman for 29 years and made a living "playing in the dirt" as he would say. Floyd rarely went a day without helping out a fellow friend, visiting with the guys, and puttering around in his garage. His friends and family could always count on him for one of his "Floyd quips."

He is survived by his wife, Paula; stepson, Chris Sayers; stepdaughter, Missy Sayers; grandchildren, Andi Stineman (Dalton), Breanna Bartels (Danny), Courtney Sayers; great-grandson, Boston Stineman; his mother, Louise; sisters, Kathy Solnok (Tom), TeddiAnne Krehbiel; nieces, Michelle, Sydney, Riley; nephew, Marshall; five great-nephews and two great-nieces. His father Ted preceded him in death.

The family will greet friends at a visitation 5-7pm Thursday, April 25, at Smith Mortuary in Derby.

Memorials are established with the Derby Historical Society & Museum, and with Derby Volunteer Fire Department, Inc.
