Florene Gardner Bowen 97, retired cook for USD 263 (35yrs). Florene was born to Edgar Thomas Gardner and Stella Maude Clift Gardner on Oct. 29, 1925 in Royal Texas. Florene passed peacefully on September 14th, 2023.

Florene is preceded in death by her parents, husband George Oree Bowen, 4 siblings, 1 granddaughter and 1 great granddaughter. She is survived by brother Quentin Gardner of Crestview Fl., sons Eddie (Lynn) Bowen of Mulvane and Gary (Marlene Gifford) Bowen of Louviers, CO; 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren plus several nieces and nephews.

Visitation to be held 6-8pm Monday, September 18, with Funeral Service 10:30am Tuesday, September 19, all at Smith Mortuary in Mulvane, KS. In lieu of flowers; Heart Association and St. Jude Childrens hospital.
