Fay Marie Bader

Fay M. Bader was born May 4, 1931 in Newton Kansas at home in the family farm house, to Leonard Woods and Nora ( Thompson ) Woods. She passed away on June 25, 2017. Service and celebration of her life is being held at 2pm this Friday, June 30, 2017 at Central Community Church. She was a devoted wife and mother, who loved God and her family beyond measure. Fay loved to cook, clean, garden and take care of her loved ones. She stayed at home and raised her three children while they were young, and once they started school she became involved with the PTA and volunteered as the home room mom all through their elementary years. When her children grew older she decided to go to work outside of the home. Fay had a long and fulfilling carrier as a merchandising manager for Sears in Wichita, Kansas. She was a great mentor to young employees, sharing her knowledge, friendship, work ethics, support, and kindness. After retirement she worked along side her husband, who she was married to for over 50 years, physically taking care of and managing their many rental properties. For fun Fay and her husband Gerald liked to dance, they belonged to a square dancing group and also loved to travel. She and her husband visited several countries including, Canada, Mexico, Europe and Australia. Fay was a member of Central Community Church where she loved to volunteer and made many wonderful friends there over the years.

Proceeded in death by her husband Gerald, son;Gary, daughter;Linda Hoover; and several siblings. Fay will be missed dearly, and remembered as a devoted mother to her son Terry and daughter in law Denise Bader, Daughter in law; Carmen Bader; and son in law John C. Hoover; siblings Don and Arrel Wooods, a loving grandmother to her 9 Grandchildren; Suzi Clark, Spring Edwards, Star Mendoza, Sunny Bader, Shelly Schroeder, Dan Bader, Jessica Bader, Tisha Eisenbart and Justin Hoover, 23 great-grand children, 5 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and many other family members and close friends.

A memorial has been established with the Alzheimer/s Association,1820 E. Douglas, Wichita, KS 67214.
