Everett E. Mulkey, 89, of Derby, formerly of Wichita, Plainville and Phillipsburg, retired Boeing Engineering Manager, died January 7, 2015. Visitation 1-8pm Monday, Family greeting 5-7 pm at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Road, Derby. Funeral 1 pm Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at Metropolitan Baptist Church, 525 W. Douglass Ave, Wichita, KS 67213. Memorials have been established with the church. Mr. Mulkey was born December 29, 1925, in Agra KS, to Lester C. and Elfie May Mulkey. The family moved to Phillipsburg in 1930, where he lived until 1943, when he left to join the Navy Aviation Cadet Program. During the down sizing of the Cadet program he graduated from Torpedo school and then returned to the Cadet Program. After being discharged from the Navy he attended and graduated from Kansas State University with a BSEE degree. Wichita State University was attended towards an Engineering Masters Degree. He was working in Plainville for Western Light and Telephone when he met Georgina Ruth Johnson and they were married October 20, 1950. They moved to Wichita were he worked with The Boeing Company for 36 years before retiring. They moved to Derby in 1954. In 1957 he entered into part time employment with the Central Ticket Agency and retired after 46 years. He served as Scout Master in Wichita and Derby along with being a Little League Baseball Manager. He was active member of Metropolitan Baptist Church in Wichita, Sons of the American Revolution (Washington Chapter), many Masonic organizations including Knight Templars of which he spent forty three years on the Mount Olivet #12 Drill Team. Proceeded in death by parents, Wife Georgina Johnson; sisters, Lorine Goodwin and Leola Bartlett and son Glen Mulkey. Survived by daughters, Pamela (Michael) Porter, Susan (Paul) Boucher; son, Eric (Nyla) Mulkey; 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
