Evelyn Schultz

Evelyn Mary Schultz, age 90, special and beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away February 3, 2014. Evelyn was born January 2, 1924, in Lost Springs, KS. She graduated from Lincolnville (Kansas) High School and from Business Preparatory School in Wichita in 1942. She worked as a secretary in Washington, D.C., during WWII, later settling in Newton, KS, where she worked nearly 30 years for the Kansas State Employment Service. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Clara Beneke; husband, Arthur Schultz in July, 2013; brother, LaVerne Beneke; sister, Lorena Blankensop. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Bruce) Baugh of Derby; grandchildren, Heather (Gene) Jani, Hilary (Keith) Ecklund, Sydney (Clayton) Kaus, great-grandchildren, Lauren, Gage, Carly and Reid; siblings, Lila (Al) Gooding and Alfred (Donna) Beneke. Visitation 2-5pm Sunday at Smith Mortuary, Derby. Funeral service 1pm Monday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 600 N. Greenwich Rd., Wichita. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the church.
