Eula Sears

May 11, 1925 — December 9, 2020

Eula (Halford) Sears was taken home by the Lord on Wednesday, Dec 9, 2020. She joined her husband Joe, daughter Peggy and her son Joe Jr who were all taken from us too soon. Eula is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas C Halford and Martha Coy Halford, all of her brothers and sisters and her grandson Benjamin Davis, (son of Mike and Joyce Davis). She is survived by her two daughters Phyllis Sears (Wichita), and Joyce Davis (Mike) of Lenexa KS, her granddaughters Rachel, Sarah, Amanda (Travis), Becky (Dylon) and grandson Nathan (Michelle) and three great grandchildren Kelden, Alanna and Westley.

Eula was born May 11, 1925 in Brushy Knob, MO or as she would say “so far back in the hills that they had to pipe in the sunshine.” Eula was an Ozark girl that grew up helping around the farm by plowing rocky fields using a horse and plow, milking cows or any other of the many chores the farm needed done. Eula met her future husband when he came home on leave from the Navy. They were engaged before Joe’s leave was over. Joe & Eula were married Oct 20, 1945. They raised four wonderful children. She was a loving mother and devoted Christian who was a woman after God’s own heart. She cared for Joe until he lost his battle with cancer 35 years ago. Now once again they are together, never to be separated and it does not get any sweeter than that.

Many thanks to Wheatlands Health Care Center and Rivercross Hospice for their kind care of Eula.
