Eugene Newton was born to Helen and Orr Newton in Kansas City. After graduating from East High School in Wichita, Kansas, he sold life insurance for Metropolitan Life, alongside his father. He met and married the love of his life, Gladys Newton, on Valentine’s Day. A young “Geno” also delivered milk for Hyde Park and worked for Coca Cola. A daughter, Pamela, was born in 1955 and daughter Katherine followed in 1958. He also sold greeting cards, vinyl home products, and cigarettes. If it was sellable, he could sell it! He has sponsored uncounted individuals into sobriety, and he coveted an affiliation with the American Legion, Post 4 and the many friends he made there. He was a fun loving, amazing husband, father and friend.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Orr Newton, his beautiful, loving wife, Gladys, and by his grandson, Jeremiah Boaz of Oklahoma City. He is survived by daughters Pamela (Joe) Wilson and Katherine (Dale) Boaz of Oklahoma City; grandchildren Sarah and Ben Wilson of Wichita, and Justine (Michael) Fresonke of Oklahoma City, as well as great grands Carly and Matthew Wilson. We will always love you, Daddy and you will live on in our hearts forever.
