Ernest John Monk

Ernest J. Monk (Ernie or EJ) was born on December 24, 1930 in rural Caney, Kansas, to Benhard and Juanita Monk. Ernie passed away on December 31, 2020 at Villa Maria in Mulvane, Ks with wife, sons and grandsons present. A graduate of Washburn University, he also did a tour of duty in the US Army 10th Infantry Division in Austria. Ernie joined the Boeing Co. in 1956 and retired in 1987 (with over 30 years of service) as Manager of Business Systems/Computer Services. He loved the outdoors and sports especially golf (3 holes in one!)

Ernie is survived by his wife Shirley, sons Kerry with wife Denise, and Kelly with wife Debra, grandsons Casey, Kyle and Cory with Brooke and great grandson Rowan, sister-in-law Beryl Johnson along with 4 nieces, 3 nephews and a number of cousins. Due to covid no services are being planned.
