Joe left his mark on this world as a great father, husband, worker and servant of the Lord.

After graduating Valedictorian, he moved from the Arkansas to begin a career in the airplane industry as a sheet metal worker at Boeing for 13 years. After a layoff Joe found his way to Cessna Aircraft and took an entry level position as a computer keypunch operator thinking that this computer thing may take off and he should get involved. With no computer experience or education, Joe retired from Cessna after 24 years as the Senior Advanced Computer Systems Analyst having programmed a significant portion of Cessna’s computer system that is in use still today.

Joe was the epitome of the “do it yourselfer”. He single handedly built the home he raised his family in, taught himself electronics and computer programming and was the guy that bought the 2 inch thick IRS manual each year and actually read it and then would do the tax return for himself and all that would come to his door in April.

Joe also served for many years as a church board member as well as spending many years as Bethel’s treasurer. He had the distinction of being the longest member on record at Bethel Assembly, beating out Dave Barney by only two weeks. Joe and Verna have been attending TAAG ( The Assembly at Goddard) for the last 3 years.
