Pauline "Polly" Fees - Lawrence

Emma Pauline Fees-Lawrence, 90, passed away, Aug. 25, 2018.

“Polly” attended Friends Bible College, Haviland, KS (now Barclay College). After graduating, she began teaching in a one-room schoolhouse.

In 1953, she married “Roy” Fees and became a farmer’s wife. In 1973, Polly’s family moved to Greenleaf, Idaho so their children could attend Greenleaf Friends Academy. While in Greenleaf, she worked for the USPS and received her Librarian Certification from Boise State University. She became the Librarian at GFA. She loved gardening, reading, sports, piano, cooking/baking. Polly received recognition as Alumni of the Year at both Greenleaf Friends Academy and Barclay College.

Polly was a member of the Friends Church in Haviland and Arkansas City, KS and Greenleaf, ID. She joined Willowwood Church of the Nazarene while living in Denton, TX.

God’s favor brought Polly and Walter “Bud” Lawrence together (who had also graduated from Friends Bible College at the same time) when they were married on May 27, 2013. Becoming E. Pauline Fees-Lawrence was a great joy in her life. Bud and Polly made their home in Arkansas City Kansas.

Polly had a giving nature, was a friend to all, and shared Jesus’ love freely. Her favorite saying was, “Love them to Jesus.”

Memorial Services will be held on Friday September 7, 2018 at 3pm at Northridge Friends Church, 2655 N. Bullinger St. Wichita, KS. Inurnment will take place on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 3pm at Jamestown Cemetery, Jamestown, KS.

Polly was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Perla Roy Fees; her parents; siblings, Juanita Lauber, Gerald, Paul, Marvin, and Wilbur Riley. She is survived by her husband, Walter "Bud" Lawrence; her children, Marilyn Ireland (Curtis), Lisa Gould (Chuck), John Fees; step-daughters Linda Snyder-Patterson (Steve), Verna Shook (Steve), and Jan Haley (Michael); numerous loved Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
