Elnora E. Waller

Elnora Ellen Waller beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother went to be with the Lord on December 1, 2021.

Elnora was born on March 1, 1937 to Ruthella Miller Evans and Grover C. Evans in Winfield, Kansas. She grew up on the family farm in Cowley County and graduated from Winfield High School. She met her future husband at Newton Memorial Hospital in Winfield, Kansas on the night of the Udall Tornado, May 25, 1955. He was in nurses training and she had applied to be a nurse’s aid. They were married in the Tisdale Methodist church on Dec. 4, 1955.

Elnora’s lifelong goal was to raise a Christian Family. She is survived by her husband James of the home; children Kendall Waller (Gale), Greg Waller (Linda), Amber Clay (Larry), and Aaron Waller ( Lisa); 8 grandchildren, Jessica, Joshua, Daniel, Timothy, Stasia, Kristen, Andrew, and Allyn; and 15 great grandchildren, Harris, Cameron, Conner, Violet, Daniel, Michael, Lucas, Levi, Peter, Hayden, Zane, Holly, Abrianna, Haleigh, and Keston.

Elnora shared her smile and love everywhere she went. She served on church boards, led youth groups and taught Sunday School wherever they lived. She shared the message of God’s love freely. Most recently, she was the Birthday party leader for their large group of seniors that meet daily at a McDonald’s restaurant for coffee and fellowship.

She loved flowers and nature and shared that love with her family across the generations. Her favorite holidays were Christmas and Easter. She enjoyed celebrating the holidays with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. with the funeral following at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Valley Center, KS on Friday December 10, 2021. Burial with graveside services will be in the Tisdale cemetery in Cowley County KS.
