Elmer Lewis Cole, age 80, retired Military Technician, 89th Regional Support Command, and Retired Chief Warrant Officer, United States Army, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2015. Visitation 1-8 PM Wednesday, January 7th, with family receiving friends 5-7 PM, Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Funeral service 10 AM Thursday, January 8th, Praise Assembly of God, 1125 S. Rock Rd., Derby. Elmer is preceded in death by his first wife, Suzanne; his parents Chester & Genevieve Cole; and stepson, Ronald Walker. Survivors include his wife, Lyla Walker-Cole, Derby; sons, Michael and John Cole, Wichita; daughters, Patricia Roth and Carole Trapp, Wichita; stepson, Mark Walker, Udall; stepdaughters, Marilyn Lawson, Derby, and Karen Lyall, Shawnee, OK; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
