Joan Miller passed away February 5, 2024. She was born on a farm near Clearwater, Kansas, on August 27, 1926.
She graduated from Wellington High School and worked at the telephone company as an operator. Joan met Bob Miller in high school and they married December 1, 1945, when he returned from his tour of duty in WW2. Joan devoted her life to being a supportive wife and loving mother to her four children. She also enjoyed bowling, fancy parties with pretty dresses and always had shoes dyed to match, various sorority activities and she loved to cook and entertain. Joan was a devout Christian and tried to raise her family in a Christian home with emphasis on being honest, trustworthy and faithful.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leigh and Merle Critzer, husband Bob Miller, daughter Connie Miller, son Bobby Miller, daughter-in-law Cindy Miller, two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her daughter Candy (Mike) Kurimsky and son Rick Miller; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and her brother Gary (Wanda) Critzer.
Funeral services will be 10am Monday, February 12, 2024, at Woodlawn United Methodist Church in Derby, with graveside services at Wichita Park Cemetery. A memorial has been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita.
