Age 79, loving mother, grandmother and KU School of Medicine employee, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017. Visitation 1 – 6 pm Sunday, December 3, with family receiving friends 1 - 3 pm, Funeral Service 2 pm Monday, December 4, both at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Ellen is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie and her parents, Orville and Mildred Brown. Survivors: son, Roger (Kelley), Cotopaxi, CO; daughters, Sherryl and Karen Bell, both of Derby; brother,Louis Brown (Marlyn); sister, Gayl Reed (Robert); grandchildren, Wesley, Rowan and Audrey.
