Honn, Eldon Eugene, age 81, died Friday, January 7, 2011. Visitation 10 am – 8 pm Wednesday, Culbertson Smith Mortuary, 115 S. Seneca. Funeral service 10:30 am Thursday, Southwest Presbyterian Church, 1511 W. 27th St. So. Eldon was born March 29, 1929 to Terrill G. and Hazle Honn at Pittsburg, KS. He was a US Army veteran serving during peacetime and in Korea and had received the WWII Victory Medal. He retired from Beech Aircraft after 41 years of service. He was an active member of Southwest Presbyterian Church, Sunflower Lodge #86 A.F.&A.M., served as a Boy Scout Leader at the Cub Scout and Explorer Post levels, District 8 Chairman, Quivira Council and participated in the forming of the Southwest Village Neighborhood Association. Eldon is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Terrill F. Honn, and his son, Terrill Allen Honn. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Ramona M. Honn and his extended family; Moauna Wilson, West Mineral, KS, Gerald & Kathryn Allen, McCune, KS, Eldon & Winona Goedeke, Girard, KS, and several nieces and nephews.
