Edward Dale Templin, born July 8, 1950, the son of Albert E. and Nellie A. Templin of Rose Hill passed away October 7, 2021. He graduated from Rose Hill High School in 1968, Butler County Community College in 1980, and Wichita State University in 1983. During high school he worked at various local service stations and helped his dad at Templin's Auto Service.
He served in the United States Air Force from 1970-1974 as a security policeman at Nellis Air Force Base, deploying to Vietnam from 1971-1972 at Cam Ranh Bay. He served in the Army Reserves from 1978-1980 at McConnell Air Force Base, where he was a legal clerk. Ed served in the Kansas Air National Guard from 1980-1996 as a machinist, toolmaker, and aircraft fabrication support.
After his military retirement, he worked for Raytheon for 5 years then was self-employed with Ed's Dirt Work.
He is survived by wife, Rose Mary Templin; daughter Melissa A. Templin; sons, Dale and Jerry Templin; sisters, Florentine Brown, Margaret Brinkley; son-in-law Tim McQuary; step granddaughter, Ashley McQuary.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Willard and Donald Templin; step daughter, Natasha McQuary.
Visitation will be 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm with the family present from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Monday, October 11, 2021 at Smith Mortuary, Derby. Funeral service will be 1:30 pm Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Rose Hill United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Dunlap Cemetery.
