Edward Miles Hansell

Hansell, Edward Miles, 96, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2011. Edward was a Chief Radioman in the US Navy from 1937-1945, then continued operating ham radios as a hobby for many years. After leaving the Navy, he worked as a GI Loan Officer for the Veterans Administration for 35 years. Funeral service 1 pm Saturday, November 19, at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Edward was preceded in death by his wife, Nina, parents Albert and Nora Hansell, granddaughter Rhonda Charboneau, sister Eva Babb, and son-in-law Charles Conley. He is survived by his children James E. (Marie) Hansell, Glenwood Springs, Colorado; Patricia Kay (Frank) Bonat, Overland Park, Kansas; Vicky Jane Conley, Wichita; grandchildren Steven Hansell, Shannon Silva, Mark Gunderson, Michael Box, Janice Wagner, David Bonat, Chris Conley, Sheila Davis, 31 great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great-grandchildren. A memorial has been established with the VFW, 406 West 34th Street, Suite 718, Kansas City, Missouri, 64111.
