Edna Marie Swett Mosness, 87, of Derby, Kansas, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Edna was born on March 27, 1937, in Vernal, Utah, the fifth child of Luther John Swett and Maud Alene Ellsworth. She spent her early years in Vernal and graduated from Uintah High School in 1956.
On April 1, 1955, she married Richard Lee Walker in Vernal, Utah, and together they had three daughters: Dixie, Doris, and Donna. On December 19, 1965, she married Bjarne Mosness in Fort Collins, Colorado, and they had a son, Brian.
Edna worked various jobs to support her family and retired after 25 years as a custodian for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She especially loved Christmas, spending the entire year planning and making gifts for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. A talented quilter, she also enjoyed crafting, cooking, gardening, canning, and sewing. She had a deep love for flowers and birds.
A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Edna served faithfully throughout her life. She will be remembered for her kindness, service, and ever-present smile. She radiated joy, positivity, and warmth to all who knew her.
Edna is survived by her four children: Dixie McMechan, Doris (Jose) Vigil, Donna (Lawrence) Woodruff, and Brian (Hope) Mosness; 22 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings: Francis Luther Swett, George Elden Swett, Elva Mae Douglas, and Wayne Elmer Swett; and her grandson, Clinton Lee Wright.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 10:30 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1409 S. Rock Road, Derby, Kansas.
