Edgar Henderson

Edgar Henderson, age 90, passed away November 2, 2016. Edgar was a WWII and Korean Navy Veteran, retired as a Chief Petty Officer and retired as a Sergeant with the Wichita Police Department, serving between 1952-1977. Visitation 1-8pm, family present 5-7pm Monday, at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Road in Derby. Funeral Mass 10am, Tuesday, November 8th, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 2300 E. Meadowlark. Derby, KS. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Henderson; wife of 55years, Fran; brother, John M. Henderson Jr.; sister, Lucille Smith; granddaughter, Casey Rene Henderson, great-grandaughter, Avery Paige Henderson. Edgar is survived by his children, Gregory (Iris), Martin “Gene” (Cindy), Douglas (Tracy), Kathryn Henderson; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Juanita Janssen. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is established with the Kids Network of Kansas, in Avery Henderson's memory, 1148 S. Hillside, #10 Wichita, KS 67211.
