Dorothy Maxine Wells.

Dorothy was the daughter of Ira Gabriel Satterthwaite and Emma Ferguson Satterthwaite. She was born on the farm south of Udall on June 26, 1923. Dorothy lived a long wonderful, blessed life and passed into God’s Hands on August 14, 2022. Dorothy was united in marriage to Gilbert E. Wells on May 28, 1944. Gilbert and son Danny predeceased Dorothy. Survivors are son Dale and wife Kristin (Derby) and daughter-in law Christine Knapp (Udall). Dorothy has 6 grandchildren, Shelly (Nathan) Brown Leawood; Travis (Sabrina) Wells, Winfield; Brandon (April) Wells, Wichita; Ryan Donham, Derby; Christopher (Jonelle) Knapp, Udall; and Erik Donham, Derby. Dorothy has 10 great-grandchildren also. Simone, Sebastian and Emalynn. Dylan, Alex, Jacob, and Gage. Miranda, Kayl and Cole. Dorothy was a special 'Aunt' to many of her nieces and nephews and some of her cousins.

Dorothy lived her whole life on the farm south of Udall. Dorothy was a wonderful homemaker and farm wife. Dorothy served as a leader of the Udall 4-H club and taught many young people cooking and sewing. Dorothy could bake a “to-die-for” angel food cake that sold well at local fund-raising auctions. Dorothy will be remembered as a kind, loving and wonderful lady.

Visitation 2-8pm Friday, August 19, with the family being present from 5-7pm. Graveside services 10:30am Saturday, August 20, at Ninnescah Cemetery, Udall.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Wichita, KS and Udall 4-H Club, Udall, KS.
