Dorothy Fern Melcher, age 85, of Mulvane, owner and operator of Lucky 7 Stables, passed away Thursday, May 4th, 2017. Visitation 2 - 8 PM Sunday, May 7, with family receiving friends 5 - 7 PM, Smith Mortuary, 1415 N Rock Rd., Derby. Rosary 7 PM Monday, May 8th, St. Michael Catholic Churc, 545 E. Main, Mulvane. Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM Tuesday, St. Michael Catholic Church, Mulvane. Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Martin Melcher; parents, Carl and Helen Cox; brothers, Leland and Lloyd Cox; sisters, Margaret Spence, Lena Mae Cooley and Mary Evans. Dorothy is survived by her sons, Paul Melcher, Mulvane, Bernie Melcher, Greenville, SC; daughters, Brenda Klassen (Max), Buhler, and Marilyn Dall, Mulvane; brother, Jesse Cox; sisters, Leska Chance, Barbara Stoffel, Gretta Costly; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
