Dorothy Brink

Dorothy Mae Brink, 100, of Derby, KS was called by God to eternal rest on June 17, 2026. Dorothy was born July 10, 1925, in Hillsboro, KS to Herman and Bessie Mae Krueger. Dorothy had a brother, Russell, and a sister, Bonnie.

Dorothy attended Tharp Grade School in Aulne, Kansas and Peabody High School before serving at Boeing Airplane Company during World War II where she worked on switches for the bomb doors. After the war, she attended Wichita Business College and worked for the Santa Fe Bus Company. Later, she served for 18 years as telephone supervisor for the American Heart Association.

Dorothy was a devoted farmer's wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Dorothy married Robert Brink shortly after he returned from serving in the United States Navy during World War II. Dorothy and Robert had two children, Dennis and Vickie, four grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, two step grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren.

Dorothy had a servant heart and green thumb. Through the years Dorothy engaged in the church community teaching Sunday School, serving on prayer chains and participating in activities of women's groups. Dorothy and Robert were recognized for more than 30 years of active service as project leaders and supporters of Sedgwick County 4-H. Dorothy loved gardening and caring for plants, which thrived with her care.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026, at Kechi Township Cemetery 6523 N. Hillside Ave, Park City, KS.

Following the service participants are invited to a gathering of family and friends for a meal at South Rock Christian Church, 900 S. Rock Rd, Derby, KS.
