Doris Lenora Mays

Doris Lenora Mays, 88, beloved and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and retired McConnell Air Force Base BX supervisor, passed away February 29, 2016. A truly altruistic lady, always putting other people's wants and needs ahead of her own, she was a wonderful cook and hosted many family reunions and gatherings. Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 19, 2016 at North Woodlawn Baptist Church, 1409 N. Woodlawn, Derby. Preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers. Survivors: husband of 60 years, Leo Mays; children, Bonnie J. Eder (Roger), Garland D. Mays, Barbara J. Mays, Gerald D. Mays, Gregory D. Mays, and G. Darryl Mays (Mary); eight grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers, Delmar L. Patterson and Loren L. Patterson (Jackie). In lieu of flowers, memorials to American Cancer Society, 330 S. Main St. #100, Wichita, KS 67202. Arrangements by Smith Mortuary, Derby.
