Doreen Creviston

Derby-Doreen Mae Creviston, passed away peacefully on her 94th birthday surrounded by loved ones on May 2, 2025. She was born on May 2, 1931, to Clarence L. and Rose Marie Brough in Kankakee, Illinois.

Doreen was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend whose greatest joy was spending time with her family. She enjoyed reading and spent countless hours knitting handmade gifts for loved ones while watching her favorite shows, Walker Texas Ranger or Days of our Lives. Her warm heart, sense of humor, and unshakable resilience touched the lives of all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward P. McElderry, their son Larry E. McElderry, and her former husband, John R. Creviston; her parents, Clarence L. and Rose Marie Brough and her siblings, Richard Brough, Clarence Brough Jr., Celina Pyle, and Judy Dluzak.

Doreen is survived by her daughters, Sandi Rhodeman and Cynde Mitchell, as well as 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N Rock Rd, Derby, KS 67037.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice.
