Donna Strong passed away on December 29, 2013. She was born on August 25, 1929 in Oklahoma to Ted and Margaret Nimmo. She graduated from East High School in 1948 and married Virgil Strong on November 11, 1949. Donna enjoyed traveling all over America with her husband. She especially enjoyed playing cards and dominos with her many friends. She was known for her bubbly and effervescent demeanor and was particularly loved by her Sunday school students. Donna’s main goal in life was to do things that glorified our Lord including holding several church offices, serving in the Stevens ministry, mentoring youth and serving with a women’s prison ministry. Volunteering was another important involvement for Donna as she served in Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina, helped to build homes in Mexico, and was involved locally with Habitat for Humanity. Survivors include her husband, Virgil; sons, Mike Strong (Debbi), Steve Strong and Tim Strong; grandchildren, Jennifer Worrell (Ian), Chris Strong, Emily Strong; daughter-in-law, Trina Strong. A memorial service for Donna will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, January 18, 2014, Covenant Presbyterian Church, 1750 N. Tyler. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is established with the church.
