Donna Carol Delano

Belle Plaine, DeLano, Donna Carol was born July 25, 1933 to Walter Conger Bridwell and Bonnie Opal Bridwell and passed away at the age of 85 on December 27, 2018. She married Stanley D. DeLano on July 10, 1953 and was a devoted wife and mother who did not work outside the home until all three children were in school. At that time she started a part-time job at Rantin Greenhouse in Belle Plaine, then went on to a full-time job at the Belle Plaine News where she worked until 2003 when she retired. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, Stanley and grandson, PFC Ryan Cox.

She is survived by her three children: Richard Lee DeLano of Albuquerque, NM, Rocky Dee DeLano (Bev) of Wichita, KS and Robin Hamilton (Jeff) of Wellington, KS along with 4 grandchildren: Rusty DeLano (Melody) of Douglass, KS, Brandon DeLano (Gillian) of Mulvane, KS, Richard DeLano Jr. of Albuquerque, NM and Chelsea Cox of Lees Summitt, MO, and 6 great-grandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, 612 N. Linden, Belle Plaine. Visitation: 1 to 8 p.m., Sunday at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Road, Derby.
