Donna Lavonne Bonvechio

Derby, KS- Bonvechio, Donna LaVonne 84, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2024. She was born September 4, 1939 in Selden, Kansas, to Bermond Davis and Marguerite Benoit Davis.

Donna worked for several years as a civilian employee with the United States Air Force, from which she retired in 2002. During her time working for the government, she lived in Pleasanton, California; Mesa, Arizona, and Stuttgart, Germany, her last location. While working overseas, she traveled to several countries.

Among her favorite things were driving her BMW, traveling, playing bridge, reading the newspaper while drinking her morning coffee, listening to music, reading fiction, and participating in the Red Hat society. For some time after her daughter’s passing, Donna volunteered for Victory in the Valley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bermond Davis and Marguerite Benoit Davis; daughter, Cindi Mourning; and siblings, Patricia, John, David, and Janice.

Donna is survived by her son, Kevin Doyle; brother, Steve Davis; sister, Beverly Hunter; granddaughter, Stephanie Marquis; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews..

Visitation: Thursday, February 22, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Smith Family Mortuary Derby, 1415 N. Rock Rd. Recitation of the Rosary: 9:30 am followed by Funeral Mass: 10:00 am, Friday, February 23, 2024 at St Mary Catholic Church 2300 E Meadowlark Rd Derby, Kansas 67037. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Center of Kansas.
