Donald L. Urmey

Urmey, Donald L., 83, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2014. He was born March 15, 1931 to Wallace and Blanche (Nicholson) Urmey in Salina, KS. Donald was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He worked for Wilson Company Engineers & Architects in Salina and NCR in Wichita. Donald enjoyed watching sports and visiting Spar City, CO with his family. He was dedicated to his work, family, and church. He was preceded in death by his parents. Donald is survived by his wife, LaMoyne; children, Greg (Beverly) Urmey, Donna (Chris) Sand, Brenda (Ronald) Thole, and Alice (Samuel) Wike; grandchildren, Timothy Kerr, Amanda Maiden, Nathan Thole, Sarah Clarady, Elizabeth Adams, Emily Doyle, Brooke Thole, Ryan Thole, Samantha Wike, Hannah Urmey, and Jacob Wike; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy (Vince) Nelson; 1 niece and 6 nephews. Funeral: 3 pm, Friday, October 3, 2014 at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby, KS 67037 with visitation 1 hour prior. Interment to follow at El Paso Cemetery – Derby, KS.
