Donald Gene Ratliff, age 66, of Rose Hill, passed on to a new life Saturday, May 21, 2016. Don was born in Wichita and after graduating from North High, he went into the Army Reserves. He lived in Little Rock, AR for a time and owned a taco restaurant with a partner. He moved back to Wichita where he worked for Coca-Cola and an RV company in sales. He and his wife Sheryl moved to Kimberling City, MO where they owned Ozark Mountain Pub and the Dinky Diner in Reeds Spring. They also lived in Independence, Douglass and Ocala, FL where he started with Lowes as a sales specialist. Upon moving to Rose Hill, Don continued his career as sales specialist with Lowes in Derby. Don is survived by his wife, Sheryl; his children, Kirsten and Brittany Ratliff, Tina Thomas and Justin Slater, all of Wichita; brothers, Ronald Ratliff (Karen) and Jerry Ratliff (Sue), all of Wichita; sister, Joetta Armitage, of Wichita; grandchildren, Alex, Aaliyah, Monty, Dawson, Olivia, Devin and Logan. A memorial service will be held 2 PM Friday, May 27, at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Road, Derby. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, IL 60674.
