Donald Ray Hyle, 80, retired Vulcan Chemical maintenance mechanic, passed way at home, Wednesday, October 14, 2015. A celebration of life gathering will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 24, at Napawalla Park in Oxford, Kansas.
Donald was born in Yale, Oklahoma on January 25, 1935. He also married the love of his life, Margaret "Peggy" Coyne in Yale, on June 20, 1954. He served on the Belle Plaine Police Reserve and Sumner County Sheriff Reserve for several years. Donald was a strong family man, serving as Scoutmaster for Belle Plaine Boy Scout Troop 361 for many years. He was also a lifetime member of, the Family Campers and RV'ers, and was a member of the Belle Plaine Masonic Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Minnie Hyle; brother Freddie Hyle, and daughter-in-law Shannon Hyle. Survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Peggy; children Pamela Hyle of Katy, Texas, Stephen (Debbie) Hyle, Belle Plaine, David (Barbara) Hyle, Wichita, Shari Hyle, Belle Plaine; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brother Eugene Hyle, Cushing, Oklahoma.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Kansas Campers' Association Scholarship Fund.
